LifeForce Housing First is now Chartered starting our mission in North Charleston SC

Updated: May 7, 2021

The leading cause of homelessness is the lack of affordable housing.

People are not earning enough money to pay for the housing that is available.

A Columbia economist had predicted a 40 to 45% increase in homelessness by the end of 2020 due to the Covid pandemic.

One of the problems is the public and political entities will not enact policy change and move it forward to create more affordable housing. This is where LFHF with private and public donations can allow the community and businesses to do what the political channels cannot do.

Being homeless does not have to be a lifelong experience, it’s very difficult to work or even apply for a job when you can’t take a shower, have no clean clothes or transportation and a simple home address. These things that most of us take or granted are the major things for homeless people to overcome. LFHF can make this a shorter-term experience. Many of homeless do have some income, disability, social security and EBT, but because of the lack of affordable housing, it’s never going to be enough to get off the streets. We the public, the community, the businesses can help make all of our lives and our community a better place to live and prosper by helping the homeless return to a positive and prosperous lifestyle. When we help one, we help all.
